How to get to Salerno

If you’re travelling in for the wedding, here are a few easy ways to reach the Salerno area.

From Naples International Airport (NAP)

It is the closest major airport, with the widest choice of flights and the quickest onward connections.

Train:

• Take the Alibus shuttle from the airport to either Napoli Centrale (main station) or Piazza Garibaldi.

• From Napoli Centrale, frequent regional and high-speed trains run to Salerno.

• From Salerno station, taxis are available for the final stretch.

Car Hire:

• All major rental companies operate at Naples Airport.

• The drive to Salerno is about 45 minutes and includes a motorway toll, payable by card or cash.

From Salerno - Costa d’Amalfi Airport (QSR)

Flight options are limited, but very convenient if they match your dates.

Train/Bus:

• A short shuttle or taxi ride takes you into Salerno, where you can connect to local transport.

Car Hire:

• A very easy drive into Salerno with no tolls from this direction.

From Rome Airports (Fiumicino FCO or Ciampino CIA)

Great if you want to spend time in Rome, but for reaching Salerno it’s the longest and least convenient option.

Train:

• From Fiumicino, take the Leonardo Express or a regional train to Roma Termini.

• From Ciampino, take a shuttle bus to Roma Termini.

• At Roma Termini, frequent high-speed Frecciarossa/Italo trains run directly to Salerno.

Coach:

• Direct long-distance coaches (FlixBus/Express Bus) run from both Rome airports (or from central Rome) to Salerno.

Car Hire:

• The drive to Salerno takes around 3 hours and includes motorway tolls along the A1/A30.
